Blister is a malicious software (malware) designed to exploit and damage computer systems or devices. This malware can infect systems through suspicious downloads, emails, or websites, often without the user's knowledge. Once it gains access, it can steal personal information, disrupt operations, or even hold data hostage for ransom. The Blister Loader has been particularly used for such purposes, demonstrating its harmful potential.
The deployment of Blister often involves the use of bogus web browser updates, a tactic associated with JavaScript-based downloader malware known as SocGholish (also known as FakeUpdates). SocGholish has been observed propagating a loader malware codenamed BLISTER. This strategy of using fake updates to trick users into downloading malware is an increasingly common method of cyber attack.
While the issue of malware is a serious concern, it's worth noting unrelated information about blister packs in the physical world. A glass or recyclable plastic bottle containing 60 tablets takes up less volume than two packets of 30 tablets each, leading to lower shipping costs and requiring less storage space in warehouses and pharmacies. It's also interesting to note that despite their name similarity, blister packs can indeed be recycled, a fact that may please environmentally conscious individuals.
