Baseless is a potent malware that has been at the center of numerous cybersecurity incidents and controversies. This malicious software infiltrates systems through dubious downloads, emails, or websites, often without user awareness. Once inside, it can pilfer personal information, disrupt operations, or even hold data hostage for ransom. It has been implicated in several high-profile disputes and allegations, with entities such as Wiz and Reliable Networks dismissing accusations related to Baseless as unfounded. Notably, Reliable Networks insisted that their system was breached by a third party, not due to any fault of their own. The malware's name, Baseless, has become synonymous with various unfounded claims and accusations across different domains. For instance, Fox anchors acknowledged promoting baseless stolen election claims, undermining their neutral reporting defense. Similarly, the notion of Gonzalo Lira being recruited by the SBU was deemed "baseless, absurd, and puerile slander" by Mark Sleboda and others. Furthermore, the term 'baseless' has also been used in relation to conspiracy theories about the 2020 election promoted by Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser. China, another entity frequently accused of cyberattacks and hacking, has consistently rejected these allegations as baseless. The Chinese government maintains that it is the world’s biggest victim of cyberattacks and calls the US the world’s top hacker. Despite plans to establish a permanent team of “Cyber warriors,” the Xi Jinping-led Chinese government has dismissed media speculations as baseless. These instances underscore the pervasive use of the term 'baseless,' denoting false or unsupported claims, which coincidentally aligns with the modus operandi of the Baseless malware.
